While I am a photographer most times, I put down the camera(after I took some photos) and wrote what is my first story ever. Madison Winstead, a senior at Paul Laurence Dunbar and UK swim team signee, was granted a one-time waiver by the NCAA to compete in UK’s inter-squad meet in front of her mother, Shane Winstead, who was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. It was a great story and gesture by UK and the NCAA. I enjoyed writing but think I will stick to photos for now. To read the full story click here. Thanks for looking!
