Hey y’all. I learned this summer that one of my weaknesses in photo was my ability to take portraits. I got into photojournalism as a moment-based photographer interested in taking photos of sports and journalism but when it comes to controlling a scene I struggle to focus my efforts on the technical details of the image. My goal this semester was to focus on portraits and continue to learn, grow and visually push boundaries to limits. With some help of some great mentors and gracious assistants to help with lighting and gear, here are some recent portraits and sportraits from the first month of this fall semester.
